Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
