Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
