Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
