Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 in Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
