The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
