The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 arise and give warning! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 and defilement flee! 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
