The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
