The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 By the angels driving away. 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 Protecting them against every wayward devil, 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
