The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
