The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 you pay attention 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
