The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
