The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
