Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 And they allot to Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate. 15
