The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
