Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 who know whatever you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
