Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
