And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 For all their deeds. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
