Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
