We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing. 33 These people say, 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
