Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 By the wise Qur'an, 2 Lo! thou art of those sent 3 upon the straight path. 4 by [virtue of] what is being bestowed from on high by the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 5 so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned and so they are unaware. 6 Indeed, the word [of God's condemnation] is bound to come true against most of them: for they will not believe. 7 Surely We have placed chains on their necks, and these reach up to their chins, so they have their heads raised aloft. 8 And We have placed before them a barrier and behind them a barrier, so We have covered them, so that they see not. 9 The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe. 10 You should only warn those who follow the Quran and have fear of the Beneficent God without seeing Him. Give them the glad news of their receiving forgiveness and an honorable reward (from God). 11 Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces [their footsteps and walking on the earth with their legs to the mosques for the five compulsory congregational prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) and all other good and evil they did, and that which they leave behind], and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book. 12
