When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
