a good many of olden times, 39 And a (goodly) number from those of later times. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 That, “We have indeed been penalised!” 66 Aye! we are deprived! 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
