Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
