The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills the Lord of the Creation. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
