Aaron had already, before this said to them: "O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command." 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 [Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 “That you did not come after me? So did you disobey my order?” 93 "O son of my mother," (Aaron cried), do not pull me by my beard or my hair! I was really afraid you may say that I had created a rift among the children of Israel, and did not pay heed to your command." 94 Said [Moses]: "What, then, didst thou have in view, O Samaritan?" 95 (Samiri) said: "I saw what they saw not, so I took a handful (of dust) from the hoof print of the messenger [Jibrael's (Gabriel) horse] and threw it [into the fire in which were put the ornaments of the Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, or into the calf]. Thus my inner-self suggested to me." 96 Musa said: begone thou! verily it shall be thine in life to say no contact; and verily thine is an appointment which thou shalt by no means fail. And look at thy god to which thou hast been assiduous; we shall surely burn it, and we shall scatter it into the sea a wide scattering. 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 This is how We relate the former tidings to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him); and We have given you a Remembrance* from Ourselves. (*The Holy Qur’an.) 99 He who turns away from it will surely bear a heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection, 100 They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; 101 On the day the Trumpet is blown; and We shall muster the sinners upon that day with eyes staring, 102 whispering unto one another, "You have spent but ten [days on earth] 103 We know best what they say. The moderate ones among them will say, "You did not live on earth for more than a day." 104
