The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
