Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
