The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
