The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of later ages, 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
