The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
