The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
