Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 gardens and fountains. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 And so they gave him the lie: and thereupon We destroyed them. In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
