And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And the night is another Sign for them. We strip the day from it and they become plunged in darkness. 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they add, "When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this] if you are men of truth!" 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
