In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 Stay up the night long save a little 2 It may be half the night or a little less than that 3 Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. 4 Surely We will make to light upon you a weighty Word. 5 Prayer at night leaves the strongest impression on one's soul and the words spoken are more consistent. 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Lord of the eastern and western regions, with due sincerity. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god except Him. Take Him for your Guardian. 9 And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. 10 And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 and food that chokes, and a painful chastisement, 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 So how will you save yourselves, if you disbelieve, on a day that will turn children old? 17 [the Day] on which the skies shall be rent asunder, [and] His promise [of resurrection] fulfilled? 18 Verily this is an admonition; let him therefore, who will, choose a way unto his Lord. 19
