Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 And you cannot escape in the earth, and you shall not have a guardian or a helper besides Allah. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 The meed of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereunto; but whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his hire is on Allah; verily He approveth not the wrong-doers. 40 Those who successfully defend themselves after being wronged will not be questioned. 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
