The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
