In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
