We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His satanic companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself went astray". 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
