The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
