And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
