O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful. 130 Guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for unbelievers. 131 Obey Allah and the Messenger in order to be subjected to mercy. 132 ۞ And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous 133 Who expend both in joy and tribulation, who suppress their anger and pardon their fellowmen; and God loves those who are upright and do good, 134 And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know. 135 Those! their meed is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens whereunder rivers flow; they shall be abiders therein. Excellent is the hire of the workers! 136 Different traditions existed in the past. Travel in the land and find out about the fate of those who rejected the Truth. 137 this [should be] a clear lesson unto all men, and a guidance and an admonition unto the God-conscious. 138 And do not become faint of heart, nor grieve, you will have the upper hand, if you are believers, 139 If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers. 140 and makes men go through trials in order that He might purge the believers and blot out those who deny the Truth. 141 Or did you suppose you should enter Paradise without God know who of you have struggled and who are patient? 142 And you had certainly wished for martyrdom before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on. 143
