Moses said: "O my Lord, enlarge my breast, 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him 31 And share my task, 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 and may remember You much. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 Recall, when your sister went along, saying: 'Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him?' Thus We brought you back to your mother so that her heart might be gladdened and she might not grieve. Moses, recall when you slew a person. We delivered you from distress and made you go through several trials. Then you stayed for several years among the people of Midian, and now you have come at the right moment as ordained. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go, you and your brother with My signs, and do not be negligent of My Remembrance. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
