The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
