۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
