Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
