SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 Ye are therefrom averting. 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. 70 When your Lord said to the angels: 'I am creating a human from clay, 71 So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 72 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 73 except Iblis. He waxed proud and became one of the unbelievers. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?" 75 He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. 76 (Allah) said: "Then get out from here, for verily, you are outcast. 77 “And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.” 78 He (satan) replied: 'Respite me my Lord till the Day of Resurrection' 79 (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee- 80 till the Day the time whereof is known [only to Me]." 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 Said He, 'This is the truth, and the truth I say; 84 I shall certainly fill Gehenna with you and every one of them that follows you' 85 Say: "I do not ask any compensation of you for it, nor am I a specious pretender. 86 "It (this Quran) is only a Reminder for all the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
