1/2 Hizb 33

۞ We gave Abraham aforetime his rectitude -- for We knew him -- 51 When he said to his father and his people: "What are these images, to which you are devoted?" 52 They answered: "We found our fathers worshipping them." 53 He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error." 54 They said: "Are you expressing your true ideas before us or are you jesting?" 55 He said, “In fact, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the One Who created them; and I am of those who testify to it.” 56 "And by Allah, I shall plot a plan (to destroy) your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs." 57 So he broke them into pieces, except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it. 58 They said: "Who has done this to our aliha (gods)? He must indeed be one of the wrong-doers." 59 They said, "We heard a youth talk of them: He is called Abraham." 60 They said, “Therefore bring him in front of the people, perhaps they may testify.” 61 They said, 'So, art thou the man who did this unto our gods, Abraham?' 62 He said: Surely (some doer) has done it; the chief of them is this, therefore ask them, if they can speak. 63 So they turned to themselves and said: "Verily, you are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)." 64 Then they reversed themselves, [saying], "You have already known that these do not speak!" 65 (So Abraham) said: "Then why do you worship something apart from God that cannot profit you or do you harm? 66 Shame on you and on that you worship other than Allah! Have you no understanding' 67 They said, "Burn him and support your gods - if you are to act." 68 [But] We said: O fire! Be thou cool, and [a source of] inner peace for Abraham!" 69 And they desired a war on him, but We made them the greatest losers. 70 And We saved him and Lot [and brought them] to a land which We had blessed for all people, 71 And We bestowed on him Isaac and, as an additional gift, (a grandson), Jacob, and We made righteous men of every one (of them). 72 And We made them chiefs who guide by Our command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds and the right establishment of worship and the giving of alms, and they were worshippers of Us (alone). 73 And Lot -- to him We gave judgment and knowledge; and we delivered him from the city that had been doing deeds of corruption; they were an evil people, truly ungodly; 74 and We admitted him into Our mercy; he was of the righteous. 75

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
