Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
