The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
