The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
